Corned beef brisket issue …..?
OK, so I put a chest of corned beef in my slow cooker tomorrow. Does anyone know what is in the packet of spices? It does not seem to be a list of ingredients on the packaging. I am concerned about the mustard seed. My boyfriend claims to be allergic to mustard and I would not make him sick! Also, have you ever cooked a corned beef brisket without the packet of spices? How was it? Thank you to all who can answer. 
Normally the packet of spices NOT include mustard seeds and broken up to bay leaves and I forget what else. So you want to include their package of spices! You will not cook well. Each Once in a while, I got a chest without the package and the corned beef always tastes delicious. Or add a little pepper and bay leaves to your slow cooker.
