Can I put a pork loin center cut filet slow cooker?
I intend to first in the kitchen stove to the brown, then put in slow cooker. Anyone have a crock pot recipe for it? Do I need to use beef broth? Can I use water? Thank you.
You can cook anything, but if you want it rare. Browning is advised to reduce fat and improve flavor. You can use any liquid, but I suggest you juices: apple, orange, cranberry, lemon or tomato. You can add fruit too, such as peaches or fruit cocktail. Sprinkle browned meat with salt and pepper, place in casserole. Mix 1 c. mustrd prepared soup, 2 c. tablespoons red wine vinegar, 1 / 8 c. tsp dill. Drain can of fruit cocktail, add 1 / 2 cup syrup to mix the mustard. Pour over meat pork, cover and simmer 4-6 hours, until tender. Remove meat, turn to high. Mix 2 tablespoons cornstarch tablespoons water and 2 c. Cold soup. Stir slurry into the pan, add the drained fruit, cover and cook for 10-15 minutes. Spoon fruit sauce over the sliced pork 4 servings.
